[Research Interests]
My research theme is about the development of novel photochemical reactions, especially concerned with photoinduced electron transfer (PET) reactions, in organic compounds. For past years I have mainly studied electrocycloreversion of cyclobutene cation radicals, photooxygenation and photoisomerization of 1,3-butadienes via PET, and bond cleavage in diene- or arene-endoperoxide cation radicals. My current research interests are the investigation on mechanisms for formally pericyclic rearrangements in ion radicals of organic compounds containing heteroatoms, e.g. thiocyanates, sulfenates, and sulfoxides, and their synthetic applications.
